It is federal law on open range near city property lines that a fire break be establish around the permittee and maintained in perpetuity but in the last dozen years or so the cities and sate have had better uses for the federal funds alloyed the state to maintain a large fire break around city and homes along the city boundaries.

Government expansion overrides their obligations and laws to protect citizens and property. Private property according to government guidelines and not authorized the protections and duties of the state, county, or city obligations. Firebreak lows have been on the books for over 70 years now they pretend to be friends for votes.
