2 down, 1 to go.You think the point guard/s that the Jazz will
certainly draft might benefit from having Stockton around?
A great man.An awesome coach.Kids this is what a real coach is.
How many life rafts are they going to throw in to save Corbin?
re: AggieloveWhat about Popovich, Phil Jax, & their collective
The Jazz don't need another coach; they need a real owner.
It takes an organization to replace the love, interest, and know how of a Larry
Miller. This will be interesting and maybe a solution to many of our problems
with the Jazz. I wonder how much clout Jerry will have.??
Welcome home Coach Sloan!
Someone who likes basketball should buy the Jazz.Jazz should hire a
coach that knows basketball (like George Karl )
In a handy position in case Corbin can't meet the grade... How convenient.
if i was a billionaire...like the russian who bought the nets...i'll buy
the Jazz...just to fire Corbin...i'll make lindsey handle everything as he
see fit to get us a championship....and i'll be sitting at courtside
watching every game...be it away or home...best seats in the house...
Tyrone Corbin is on the hot seat now. Greg must be tired of the team
performance and getting ready to put Sloan back to coaching anytime. With
Malone and maybe even Stockton and Harpring, I will feel very unsecured if I am
@Uncle Ricoi wont hire George Karl...but...i would give Brian Shaw a
chance...if he still doesnt have a team to coach....i'd also try to get
There are some interesting developments beginning to brew. The first is what the
draft will deal. There is also some possibility of a "sign and trade"
for either Jefferson or Millsap. Obviously, they need to cut the lifeline and go
with youth. The point guard situation is critical and we will see how that works
out. The "problem" right now with the NBA is just how good LeBron James
really is. The Heat really do not need a coach. Basically, just give LeBron the
ball and have everyone else stand around while three guys try to stop him. That
filters over to other teams and coaches. Many, many players think that they are
the 6 ft 8, 250, wonder. Good coaches stopped the playground mentality with such
as Sloan. Now, it has returned and that was what caused the "marriage"
between Sloan and D-Will to move to Divorce Court.
I think it's probably good to hire Jerry Sloan as an adviser. One of the
many things missing this last season was a good perimeter defense. Any team that
shot the long ball literally riddled the Jazz. Our guys were too slow and unable
to defend against shooters. Sloan will bring in a defensive toughness to the
Jazz and will look for players that are athletic enough to play good defense.
throw in Stockton and with Malone and Sloan you've got a recipe for pick
and roll. a glaring hole in the Jazz offense.
This can be viewed as a good first step in being able to bring Jerry back as
head coach of the Jazz if they fail to again make any progress this coming
season. Though Corbin is a very likable person, it's not
difficult to see that the team has been in a downward trend each year he's
been head coach. Last year was supposed to be different with the trades and
higher caliber players signed... but wasn't. More inconsistency and another
missed playoffs year. Unless Corbin has an immediate sizable jump in his
learning curve, this could and should be his last year... at least as head
coach. The Jazz now have Jerry well poised to make that transition if needed.
Great!$15,000,000 state-of-the-art scoreboard...A
state-of-the-art Senior Adviser...How about a state-of-the-art 1,2
@Uncle RicoGeorge Karl has been to the playoffs 22 times. He has
lost in the first round 16 times and lost in the second round 4 times. My guess is that you nor Coach Karl will be getting a call anytime soon from
anyone who doesn't like the phrase "one-and-done".These
facts are readily available for anyone interested in dealing in reality. Some
fans choose not to.
It will be nice to have a real coach around when the current one does not get
his contract renewed after next season.
