natural.” The problem is that babies don't always get the memo that
their births are supposed to be typical. Placentas don't know that
they're not supposed to detach prematurely since the midwife doesn't
have the expertise to deal with the resulting hemorrhages. Uteri don't know
they shouldn't rupture because the home is not equipped with a blood bank
or an OR. Every home birth midwife is acting "out of that

90% and the maternal mortality rate 99% over the past century (see the CDC paper
