SUU's similar program has been very successful in teaching finance majors real-time market skills and situation analysis. Of course, it helps to have a motivated professor with deep pockets and market savvy to regain all the money lost.

Real world scenarios like this one occur far less regularly than they should at all levels of education. Students will rarely remember theory untill it's applied.

Great idea....

The school should take profits (if they exist) and give them to another school to fund their own project.

$10,000 would have done it too. Gotta think about what's gonna grab kids attention. Just like kids don't know the difference between 1 trillion in debt and 1 billion.

100,000 is a lot of money and so is 10,000... from a kids point of view.
