I don't find this kind of public education a good choice that provides only half an education that is primarily propaganda and indoctrination courses designed to limit knowledge and eliminate any reference to individuality and individuals thoughts and wants and abilities.

It is cheap and that is its only attribute, but much of the education process is learning bout your country, your governemnt, your rights, and your personal desires and expectations.

Formal class rooms also teach social skills so we can be a cohesive and united goals and I'm afraid this kind of education is used with the worst intentions of government propaganda because that has become the goal of education, to strip americans of their individuality and achievements and rights calling them a threat to governemnt and their friends and neighbors..

@ My2Cents: The vast majority of public education in America today is "[left-wing] propaganda and indoctrination courses designed to limit knowledge and eliminate any reference to individuality and individual's thoughts and wants and abilities." You must be either:

A) really old without knowledge of the current system,
B) making a living from the education system as it is, or
C) too unobservant of life in general to make an accurate observation about anything.

"Much of the education process is learning about your country, your government, your rights..."

That isn't really taught anymore; otherwise, no one would vote for an anti-American like Obama.

"Formal classrooms also teach social skills so we can be cohesive and united..."

Guess what? If you have 10 siblings like the girl in the story, you have far more social skill than almost any high-school graduate I've seen in the last 20 years.

"That has become the goal of education, to strip Americans of their individuality and achievements and rights, calling them a threat to governemnt and their friends and neighbors..'"

See--you do recognize it! But you somehow think right-wingers are doing it when it's left-wingers doing it.

To "My2Cents" what kind of social skills are taught or learned in school? My experience has shown me that the primary "social skills" relate to either bullies or else potty humor. Beyond that there really are not any social skills that are of value found in a public school classroom that cannot be taught elsewhere.

On-line education for high school and middle school students just don't work in my opinion. I don't want my daughter to have this type of education. I would either have her go to a public school, or prep school, or a private school! I want my daughter to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. On-line education does not provide all these! On-line education occur a lot in the poor areas of Los Angeles County!
