@UtahBruin, My suggestion to Silent Lurker applies equally to you.
@ Mildred in Fillmore4 Pac-10 Schools in the tournament (Yes Pac-10
- Utah and Colorado still are not recognized)3 of the 4 schools are
#1 Seeds and host to the tournament1 of the 4 is a National Seed, a
#4 National Seed, 3 of the 4 are good enough to be National Seeds, but geography
does play into it in NCAA Baseball. I am not saying they should be National
Seeds, I am saying good enough to be National Seeds4 Pac-10 Teams
ranked in the Top 25, none from the WCCSince the tournament began in
1947, 41 Pac-10 Teams have played in the championship game for the NCAA Baseball
National Title. Wining the title 27 out of those 41 times. That means the Pac-10
wins it more than half the time almost three fourths of the time. 41
Appearances in the championship game and claiming the title 27 times, all in 65
years. Pretty Good!Congrats to the Cougars on a good season, they
would not have come close to winning the Pac-10, they would have finished at the
bottom with Utah
We all know polls are flaws in all sports and they can just get rid of them.I didn't think we have a chance to get in because in some factors.
Example, when was the last time BYU made it to ncaa, way too long ago. Yes wcc
has been strong for a long time and byu did very well this time around. You
think sec baseball is similar to big east basketball pretty much so but I
don't know SEC Baseball (I know it make no sense what I am saying).Coach Littlewood was the best guy this time around and we hope he has
the same gene like Dave Rose and Bronco M. for hard wook.Go Cougars!
Excellent showing for a 1st year coaching taking over a program. I expect things
will only get better from here. If I were to take a bet, Cougs could be in the
group of 64 next year.
@Silent Lurker,Before you get baited by the Utah trolls posting on
BYU articles, you should figure out who they are.
@ MildredBefore you make statements about NCAA baseball you should look up
the standings. There are four PAC 12 teams in the top 25 rated teams. There are
zero WCC teams in the same top 25.
They were a fun team to watch. Some good talent. Need some more pitching.Unfortunately... or fortunately depending upon your perspective, Jacob
Hanneman won't be back next year. Darn... I wanted to watch him play
football. But, he'll get drafted high, sign a bonus for more than $1
million and get on with a pro baseball career. Teams are salivating over his
BYU should have gotten into the tournament. The WCC is stronger than the PAC 12
so BYU would have won the PAC 12.
