I didn't see the final four matches. was wondering if the BYU walk on
freshman middle blocker Mike Hatch played. He was playing wonderfully during the
middle of the season and helped BYU get back to #1 with his excellent blocking.
Then he got benched in favor of Devin Young who is good but i thought Hatch
played better overall. Also Ryan Boyce was having off and on games near the end
of the season and was wondering if he struggled with his timing of sets?

Utah's men don't play women's sports!"I'm
sure UCLA, USC and Stanford would take exception to you referring to Men's
Volleyball as a "women's" sport. The truth is, the Utes
aren't competitive in ANY men's sports. Since joining the PAC 12, the
Utes have finished in the bottom half of the conference in every sport, in most
cases dead last or next to last.
Bleed Crimson"Utah's men don't play women's

championships strictly to Men's NCAA National Championships.BYU's Men's Volleyball Team has won more Men's NCAA National
Championships(three) since 1999, than Utah's Men's teams have won
during Utah's entire history - one, if you count the only indisputable
championship in men's skiing in 1981; two, if you also count the disputable
NCAA tournament championship won when the NIT tournament was the elite
tournament of the day in 1944.Utah's Men's Ski Team only
won ONE NCAA championship, in 1981, before it became a coed championship, and
that in a college sport so obscure and irrelevant, that only three other FBS
schools even compete - Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico.Utah's
Coed Ski team hasn't won a national championship since 2003.Utah's Women's Gymnastics team hasn't won a national
championship since 1995.

"UC Irvine sweeps Cougars in national title match"LoL!
Awesome team and season. 7 points over 3 and the result would have been exactly
flipped... that's being as good as your opponent. Congrats to UC-I, you
had to beat one the two best to win it all and you did.
@SLCWatch baseball look better this time this year and they will continue to
improve. But, football is a long time waiting and I am ready to go fishing. Well
prepared Irvine and you earned it and we had a good run but couldn't get it
down. This season was fun Cougars!
It was a hard fought match and both teams displayed amazing talents. In the
end, the team that brought an extra dimension to their game, a solid brick wall,
finally won out. It was an incredible display of defense by the Anteaters that
did us in. Kudos to them! Sad as it is, it's been a great
season and I'm proud of the team's success throughout the year. I
know we're all disappointed but there's always next year. Besides,
all was not lost. Our rugby team won their national championship title so
This won't happen next year as BYU coaching will have learned to make
adjustments. UCI simply focused on blocking Sanders and Batch. Can't really
blame BYU for sticking with their two stars—after all, it had worked all
season. Close and enjoyable match just the same. Both teams should hold their
Each set was especially close, however, UCI dominated, and BYU couldn't
answer. This was volleyball evenly matched, point for point and at its best. We
still love this BYU team. They have been really outstanding this year. Thanks
for a great season. Congratulations to UCI.Go Cougars!
I'm totally bummed. UCI had us extremely well scouted and were well
coached. They had at least 2 blockers on every one of BYU's kill attempts.
In fact every facet of UCI's game was just about as close to perfection as
a team can get. In short, they played out of their minds. BYU actually played
pretty well, except forPatch who probably had his worst game of the season.UCI's defense was just ridiculously good. I don't think I have
ever seen a defensive performance like that.I really feel bad for
Sander and the Cougs. This was their year.
Volleyball isn't quite like soccer, where a team can dominate and still
lose, but it still comes down to who's hot at the end, and Irvine had it
all working tonight. BYU has been getting by on magic for several weeks--they
really didn't even look that great against Penn State--but it finally ran
out tonight. To lose the second and third games after being up 11-4 in one and
24-21 in the other pretty well sums up the evening: the better team won.
Excellent play UC Irvine! They maintained composure and won the day.I
congratulate them and their new coach.BYU had a great season and I enjoyed
so many of the matches.I feel rewarded for my time as a fan and I thank
the team for all the highlights. With Patch leaving for a mission I hope
the Y can fill his big shoes.UCI may have had the coach of the match but
BYU has the coach of the year.We still have other sports to watch with
Baseball, softball, and Track and field (M&W)So Go Cougars!!!And
Football is coming!
