Republicans and Tea Party alike warned of all the pitfalls. They were shouted down as liars. here is just another example.

Politicians know this stinks and are doing anything they can to not be subjected to it. They get the choice and we don't.

Liberalism will be the downfall of this country.

What else did you expect from Obama.....he thinks someone making $50000 is rich and should shoulder the healthcare cost of someone who wont work and is on the public dole! Thatcher rest her sole said it best "the trouble with communism is the run out of other peoples money"......

America is just waking up to this foolishness.....and will vote this Obamacare mess out in 2014! and Render Obama the lame duck that he is!

Mcallen, TX

These are the same ones who wanted ten years of Romney's tax records. Obama paid 18% in taxes, compared to 35% for Mitt.

Now exemption from Obama care?

No sense in actually READING the article before commenting.

Not when the title is enough to incite the desired result.

Bottom line, Grassly put in some wording to stop the Govt from subsidizing its employee healthcare.
Now their healthcare costs will go up significantly. (just like yours would if your employer stopped contributing)

Because of Obamacare? Nope, Because of political games by GOP Senator Chuck Grassley.

But, don't bother to read the facts. The headlines are good enough.

Sen. Grassley did not realize that the Democrats would resort to the idea that it has to be passed in order to find out what is in it. Some Senators did not realize that there were a lot of controversial clauses as well as all of the pork that was used to entice a few to vote in favor of this catastrophe. Now the bad parts are being revealed as we get closer to full implementation and people in both Houses of Congress are scrambling to correct anything that will adversely affect them without repealing it altogether. The rest of us will just have to live with the parts that adversely affect us.

Mitt Romney was right!

Thank You Joe, your absolutely correct. Just more "I hate Obama" hubris from the right.

@Happy And what is not to hate?

No, from the article, “Grassley's amendment was intended as a "poison pill," meant to embarrass Democratic lawmakers, not actually become part of the law.”

The bottom line is Grassley put the amendment in in an effort to stop this monstrosity, but dems wanted it, warts and all. I guess you missed that. Dems didn’t even bother to read it before they passed it!

There is NO WAY repubs can be blamed for ANY of this monstrosity! NONE!!

Happy Valley,
I guess you neglected to read the article as well. And you don't EVER evidence hate in ANY of your acrid comments? hubris indeed!

Yeah, talk about reading the article, I'd have preferred that the politicians who voted for it have had time to read the bill! Remember Pelosis famous, we have to pass it to know what is in it.? She should have been kicked out of Congress for such an irresponsible position when dealing with 1/6 of the U.S. economy.

The thing that galls me about Congress, is they already "exempt" themselves from the Social Security program that they insist we all who are not government employees pay into. If SS is so good they why don't they live with it too? Or, if their program is so much better, which I'm sure it is, then why don't they give regular people the ability to have something else too? It should be a "choice" not a force.

Does this apply to Democrats as well? Remember HOW the healthcare bill was passed? "We have to pass it to find out what's in it!"!

Well, Princess Pelosi got her wish.

It was passed, but it took them until now to find out "…what is in it" for her Congressional staffers.

One word for Senator Grassley and the Good Old Boys's club. KARMA!

Obamacare is a poison pill.

HS Fan,
you mean the Good Old Boys' Club of ALL the senate and house dems (especially nancy pelosi who didn't bother to read it) who voted for this monstrosity? Is that who you mean?

Or are you just throwing ill-aimed barbs at those repubs you hate and who did not vote for it (except for the one or two RINOs needed for passage)?

Just like a republican to slip a ruffie in someones drink and then blame them for not knowing.

Reminds me of the scorpion riding across the river on the frog.

The Good Old Boys club is full of Republicans and Democrats. Good on them that their staff would have to live by the same rules as the general public. The analogy of the scorpion and the frog is an excellent one.

But, we have to comment on it to know what's in it! Why read it?

clearfield, UT

The question you have not made clear is who is represented by the scorpion and by the frog?
I can tell you this though, the Republicans have been the frog a whole lot when dealing with Democrats and their false promises of cutting budgets and securing borders in order to pass bills. Obama was quite a scorpion when he said that "if you have a doctor or health care plan that you like, you can keep it." And remember, Obamacare was and is a 100% Democrat plan. And was not then or now popular with the majority of people.
