Herbert wants to move on? He should have led the push to have Swallow removed from office. His complaining only makes it look like he wants the feds to rush an investigaion and clear a buddy. Herbert stay out of it!

Ordinarily the FBI investigates federal not state law violations. When both state and federal laws are at issue, the FBI usually pools its resources with the state. However, in this case, there is no state agency to partner with except a special prosecutor if our Lt. Governor ever appoints one. In short Governor, if you want the investigation completed, go next door and talk to your Lt. Governor.

The college dropout developer governor wants to tell the federal prosecutors how to do their job? Really?

I think a way to resolve this is to empanel a grand jury, subpoena Mr. Swallow, and all the usual suspects and ask direct questions to each and every one. This is like the weather, everyone talks about it i.e., the cloud of suspicion hanging over Mr. Swallow and the people who should have known better and are holding their tongue and breath at the same time, but are doing nothing about it. People in power do not want the matter settled only to go away. I am of the opinion, there were signs and warnings out there but everyone in the "best managed state in the country" management chose to ignore them to not rock the applecart. We get what we elect.

The Gov needs to get out of the way of justice.

Perhaps his first-hand experience with the rough treatment of Government will give Mr. Swallow some measure of compassion for others.
