@tlar22: realignment with the UHSAA occurs every 2 years based on current
enrollment. To clarify, Canyon View remained in 3A. The rest of Region 9 was
moved up to 3AA. The UHSAA split the classification into two classes. Canyon
View has been the smallest school in the Region 9 for quite a while with an
enrollment of under 700 for grades 10-12. A couple of the St George schools run
closer to 1100. Perhaps instead of looking at it as some sort of sympathy act
having Canyon View STAY in 3A, you should look at it as a sympathy act to not
force Snow Canyon, Pine View or Desert Hills into 4A which is a viable option
based on their enrollments. That would have them driving up to Utah County for
Region games. I agree it will be interesting to see what the state does. It is
about time to have the St George schools start driving up north again,
don't you agree?
What happened with Coach Tyler Gladwell at Bonneville? I'm not able to
find anything anywhere about what happened.
So if Canyon View becomes good are they going to move back up to 3A? I know that
they have enough people but it was just a sympathy act letting them go to 2A. It
will be interesting to see what the state does.
