Manning sure has posted some pretty impressive numbers, but at 6-2/195-lbs,
it's likely going to be a while before he sees the field. I'm
thinking he's going to need about 20 more pounds on him before he'll
be able to really face Pac-12 defenses. If he adds the weight, and
redshirts in 2013, he might be in a good spot to take over after Wilson and/or
Schulz expires their eligibility, and take the field as a R/S Junior in 2016.
He looks very encouraging.
He might be pressed into action much sooner than you think, based on QB play
from the "more" senior players on the team this Spring.......
It doesn't matter who starts at QB this year - on September 21, Utah will
spank whoever the team down south decides to throw on the field. It continues
to amaze me the bravado of some of these trollers - don't they remember who
owns them? Too funny!!Go Utes!! Can't wait for football to
I making two predictions here. First Manning will redshirt this year so he can
put on some weight and compete next year. Second, Hondo can't read an
article about the U football team without making a negative. While
young, the Utes will be fine at the QB position this year with Wilson and
Schultz. One of the income freshman will probably be listed as third on the
depth chart and may even see some playing time.
Co uteI would bet the farm that there will be a package for Cox, the
guy is too athletic to keep off the field.
The fact that this guy was listed as a three star (Rivals) was almost laughable.
Everybody who knows anything about hs football in So. Cal knows that this kid is
the real deal. He played against as good as it gets in at that high school level
and he got it done big time. He's not a giant, but make no mistake--Connor
Manning will be a big time player for the Utes.
@Hondo"He might be pressed into action much sooner than you

freshman. I don't think that is very "senior".
