Often what children need most is love and attention. Many homes are different that the traditional home everyone wants. Single moms and dads need help. If the family is already broken, then the ideal situation is gone. This is a fact for 50% of families as per the divorce and death rate.
So yeah, its great to have a mom and dad and a white picket fence. But its kind of ignorant to think that this is possible to happen any time in the near future without addressing a multitude of other factors no one is going to address.
Its a nice thought, but this article is just hot air. This is a clear attempt to slight the gay marriage laws that are being passed all over the country, and its not a very good job at that.

"Celebrate Marriage" -- what a misnomer.

Celebrate EVERYBODY's marriage, even those who are different than yourself.

Marriage isn't about having children, it is about two adults joining themselves together into a familial unit.

The true selfishness here is that you're trying to deny other Americans the same legal benefits you enjoy with marriage.
