Is it possible that the stress was simply due to the test subject having to think/say something abhorrent? I'm fairly certain my skin would register some increased conductivity if I dared Santa Claus to drown my parents.

RE: Tyler, the idea of God is extremely powerful. True,
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that’ they are WITHOUT EXCUSE, because, although they knew{about]God’, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man……(Romans 20-23 NLT) The Noetic effects of sin.

@sharrona

I always enjoy your Bible quotes… mostly for the entertainment value.

How they relate to the topic at hand is usually lost on me, but hey, I’m a simple guy.

Perhaps the stress is because of a respect for fellow humans?

Some trace of doubt still exists no matter how hard atheists try to deny it. Atheists like Stephen Hawking spend their lives trying to disprove the existence of God, but "me thinks he protests too much" and in many cases (my family has some of these) they are simply trying to provide an alibi for when they face their Maker in the life to come.

Something within us has a desire to know the Divine. It is selfishness, personal gratification, or bad experience with imperfect people in religion that turns them away, but that seed still remains and is extremely difficult to completely purge.
