I think Al is generally underrated by many commenters and commentators. I still see some defensive lapses, but I see buy-in and growth even in his weakest areas. He's not nearly the liability he's been during parts of his stay here.

And his grasp of his having a role in the whole offense beyond scoring has improved by leaps and bounds. 2.3 assists, his blocks, his knowing when to pass out, more hustle up and down the court... ...great big strides (no pun intended).

His growth as a complete player tends to make me believe in Coach (if not always DURING the games). No one on the team has more impact in more games when he's playing well.

Way to go, Big Al. And despite lots of carping, I for one really hope you're here next year!! Even if that means saying good-bye to Paul. People forget you're still in your 20's and only starting to reach your NBA peak.
