"Maybe the only thing worse than hearing someone go on about their bracket is someone giving a hole-by-hole recounting of their latest golf round."

...or reading someone go on about people talking about their brackets.

I don't see BYU getting past Baylor, but if somehow they do, they may be the favorites in the NIT final. Weber should win the CIT final game. Utah is probably 50-50 in this game, and if they advance probably 50-50 in the final game, as well. Kansas State didn't look strong at all in the regular season, but has pretty well dominated the teams they've played in the WNIT so far, where Utah has mostly edged their opponents, so it's hard to say how the game will look.

Thanks a lot for bringing up that Utah/ North Carolina game at the Special Events Center! The Utes had a strong team with Vranes and Chambers and had the Tarheels right where they wanted them (the Utah home court), but Utah was very tight as I remember it and had an off game at the worst possible time. I don't know their shooting percentage in that game, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was on the level of many of this year's NCAA tourney teams: 30-35%.

I was at that game, North Carolina ran 4 corners and took like 12 minutes off the clock. NC also had Worthy, Perkins and Jordan on that team.

I guess the 4-corners thing explains what I remember to be, like, the Utes scoring in the 50s. Whatever the explanation, it still hurts to think about it. Almost as much as my high school team, rated No. 1 all season in "Class A" many decades ago, being ahead by 17 at halftime in the second round of the state tourney at Einar Nielson, then not being able to throw it in the ocean in the second half and losing by 2 (not that I ever think about it!).

Man that's tough. That's sports; that's life Bro. You never forget seasons, or games like that.
