This is one of the saddest cases I have ever read about.

If found guilty - it would be better that a mill-stoned be placed around their necks...

This story is as disturbing to me as the Powell case. A dad should be getting home from work and running and hugging his boy, playing cars with him, taking him to get an ice cream cone or a happy meal, being his hero. A mom should be tender and loving, playing and teaching the little boy. What these two did to this innocent child is beyond troubling and my heart is broken for this little boy. Justice will be served.... Not in this life, but in the life to come. At least this little boy is in the loving arms of his Father in Heaven now where he cannot be hurt anymore.

The mother (and I use that term generically), better also get the death penalty.

In my opinion, abusing a child like that is one of the most disgusting crimes and warrants the harshest penalty possible.

I am so greatful that little boy is with his Father in Heaven, where he will never feel pain again. My heart aches for his father too.

Sick, sick, sick! The medical examiner's report makes my stomach turn. Only 4 yrs. old...God bless him now.

This tragic story brought so many tears and feelings of anger toward those responsible..he was only a four-year old child for heavens sakes. There should be no doubt what will happen to them and their worse punishment will be the day they meet with the Lord - his wrath will be their end. I can't get the visions of that precious child out of my mind.

I'll say it again, DNews, crimes against children are the most heinous that can be committed because they are innocent and defenseless.

Two wrongs do not make a right. All the death penalty does is evidence the brutality and degradation of American society. These two if found guilty should have their whole lives to think about the evil they have done and a very long time to repent. No society should take the place of God. He gave life and He taketh away. No one else should!

I remember reading about this at the time it happened and just feeling sick. I have 4 year old grandsons and granddaughters, and can't imagine a 4 year old doing anything so horrible that "parents" (which these 2 definitely were NOT) would mistreat a child in this manner. Totally selfish, thoughtless and cruel. My heart aches for Ethan's father, who did not want to send him to his mother, and Ethan didn't want to go, either, as I recall. I hope that justice will be done. Of course, it will be for sure when Nathan and the "mother" die and have to become eternally accountable for their actions. I'm glad Ethan is in a safe place, but it would have been nice if he could have grown up as a happy child and productive adult.

Negligent, selfish parenting at best. But sounds like torture and worse to me... either way I wouldn't want to be them on the other side, which probably should come sooner rather than later.

They both were in on it and both tried to cover it up. Throw the book at both of them.

Agreed.

A state powerful enough to legally take a life,
is a Governmental Frankenstein's Monster.

Spendling a life behind bars will be a constant daily reminder as to what they've done.

Little Ethan's in a better place.
There's no reason to send those put him there that better place, too.
