One win in MSG would be fabulous, but two would be even better. The season is
down to the final four: BYU v. Big 12 and Big 10 v. ACC. Go Cougs!
Very exciting to find BYU Cougars succeeding in the post-sesason NIT!Just
wanted themselves to make out well in this year's post-season and they are
responding with honors..........I thought how it would be wonderful for
their underclassmen to gain playing experience during this NIT, but they are
also winning and that is giving much more experience to prepare for these coming
years immediately following.Zystra is finally coming along as expected
with his 3-pt. range bombers, and Carlino is going out with super honors by
fulfilling those assists he is renown.Of course, the passions of Brandon
Davies and Tyler Haws is fundamental to this team; so, finding rebounds from the
many forwards(Austin, Sharp, Kaufusi, Ambrosino, and Howard) on this team and
the backup scoring coming from reserves on the bench is going to give fits unto
the Baylor BearsNot to overlook making due recognition for the others who
are fulfilling the cast: Delgado, Cusick, Winder, Calvert, and Ainge. Praise
unto the Spirit.
All we need now is to hear from Chris B and it will be a sure win for the
cougars in New York.
BYU beats the Maryland Terps to win the NIT Championship! You heard it here
Congratulations Cougars on an outstanding performance across the board breaking
#34 RPI SMU's 30-game home winning streak against non-conference foes. A 24-10 assist/turnover ratio is exceptional.Not only are
you having a great run in the NIT, you're gaining invaluable experience for
another NCAA run next season.Go Cougars!
Go cougars, shock the floor at MSG! Show eastern there is a west team who can
Congrats Cougs. Way to gel at the right time. Our BYU haters are kinda quiet
tonight. I was hoping that Chris B would show some class on such a great win
over yet another so-called power conference. WCC membership is not looking too
bad right now and the future looks even brighter for many years to come at BYU.
Keep it rolling Cougs. Someone has to represent the state.
and...BYU is STILL playing!Very nice game for the Cougars. Credit
Zylstra for lighting it up at the right time. Although there were some errant
passes trying to break the press and, what I thought, much too early looks at
the basket when shortening the game seemed preferable, the team maintained
composure and finished strong.Sure it's not the NCAA, but so
many consecutive games on ESPN channels is still great exposure. New York City
and Madison Square Garden is a good reward for this type of turnaround. Playing
late into the year, and with some pressure, bodes well for the returning
players.Best of luck in the Big Apple!Great feeling to
root for your own team in an actual late-March game instead of hanging on
vicariously through teams that finished 7, 8, or 9 places higher in your OWN
conference.One constant in the world...we won't see Chris B.
... until the pregame story for Baylor.
Wow, three wins in a row by healthy margins! And BYU finally beat a team on the
road that was ranked higher than BYU, and with a sellout crowd. How cool to play
in historic Madison Square Gardens. All the #1 seeds in the NIT have lost, if
BYU can keep up the great play they have a solid chance, but Baylor is next,
maybe some revenge ball?Go Cougars!
This now proves that BYU should have been in the tournament. This is a sweet
The season is salvaged for me. The Final Four of the NIT is better than getting
into the NCAA with a 15 seed, unless of course you're Florida Gulf Coast.
Cougs are playing their best ball of the season. I thought
we'd play like this most of the season. Nice to see everyone stepping up.
Awesome Cougars! Can't believe how many assists you put up against S. Miss,
incredible. Great road win with little rest. Go take a bite out of
the Big Apple!! Here we come Madison Square Garden!
Vlad,I have been looking high and low to find the Utes in a post-season
tourney but I just could not find them anywhere. I love my membership in the
@alternate...All comments are welcome... Including those from the
fans of the school 40 miles north... all 6 of them. You almost sound
like you are running for Governor...
I don't think that the U had a post season did they?
BYU is playing some of the best ball of the year and players are stepping up at
the right time. Noone gave them a ray of hope of beating Southern Miss on their
home court. The announcers were exactly right in their praise of BYU. This
terrific win must be killing Chris B and the other BYU haters.Keep it
Very disappointed in the comment by the person who goes by Mount Olympus. Is
"sour grapes" a strong enough response to the negative words? It is sad
that someone would attempt to degrade an amazing turnaround by a team that
almost everyone had pronounced dead two weeks ago. Actually many
people had pronouced them dead as late as this morning, with similar negative
talk that they "had a nice run" but will never beat a quality team like
Southern Mississippi especially after having to travel 2000 plus miles and play
on the other guys home floor.BYU will robably hear the same talk
again, but know what, they are is still playing and guaranteed at least one more
game in MSG. Good job Cougars! Finally, Utah and Weber should be
complimented also. They both had excellent post seasons, in fact, Weber is
still playing in their tournament.
If BYU could have played like this in February they would not only be the only
Utah and/or WCC team still playing College Basketball, but they would have been
doing it in the NCAA Tourney.BYU Basketball in April... It has been
a few years.
Season salvaged! Don't stop now. Big Apple, big platform to show what you
are made of. The WCC teams are rooting for your success as well. You are there
now so set your ambitions high and don't deviate: Win the NIT Cougars!
Congratulations Cougars on a great NIT road win! Great game from Brock!Good luck in the Big Apple!
Keep it going Cougars! 3 very good wins. The team is finally clicking on all
cylinders and the young guys are getting some great experience. Go
BYU had a decent year against non-NCAA tournament teams not named San Diego.
