    He should also face FEDERAL charges on possession of the sawed off shotgun. and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

    Let the feds prosecute him and incarcerate him (instead of wasting state money). Of course, federal prosecutions of gun crimes is shockingly rare, despite Congress whining about the need for more gun laws.

    Wait, aren't sawed-off shotguns illegal? Demanding more gun laws because criminals will never obey any gun laws is like having yourself neutered because you think your neighbors have too many kids.
