No, being a homosexual does not make someone a pedophile. However, this is an example of why homosexuals should not go camping with young boys.

Similarly, most heterosexual men are not pedophiles. And yet most people agree they should not be camping with young girls.

Sad for all these young boys were abused. Groups such as the Boy Scouts are simply trying to avoid as many of these cases AS POSSIBLE.

Many child molesters cannot be meaningfully described as homosexuals, heterosexuals, or bisexuals (in the usual sense of those terms) because they are not really capable of a relationship with an adult man or woman. Instead of gender, their sexual attractions are based primarily on age. These individuals – who are often characterized as fixated – are attracted to children, not to men or women.

It is remarkable this guy turned himself in.

Recently had an acquaintance who was a pedifile die in prison. He didn't have to die in prison. He was released once fifteen years ago and he abused another boy so back in he went. Glad this guy is off the street and hope he stays off the streets for a very long time.

@ Chris B: There is nothing in this article that indicates the man's sexual orientation. Your comment jumps to an unsupported conclusion. The only real conclusion that can be reached from this article is that children may not be safe even in the most child friendly situations and we need to do a better job educating them on inappropriate touching and making a fuss should such occur.

@ Maudine: I think Chris B is correct. The perp said he was attracted to young MALES.

He had sexual relations with other people of his same gender. That is the very definition of homosexual. There could be no further proof than that.
