Sorry, I like soccer, but admit I don't know the rules all that well. But, I wanted to know why the kid from Judge got a red card, and isn't that kind of like a flagrant foul in Basketball? Is it a transgression worthy of further discipline? Someone help please.
@joseywales
The reason the judge player got the red card was because he was the last defender and was stopping what was a big opportunity for a goal. If there had been another player in between him and the goalie, he probably would only have gotten a yellow card, but he prevented what was a clear opportunity for a goal.
Park City looked real crisp in their matches earlier this week, despite losing to 5A Weber. Plus they already have a win over Juan Diego in tough Region 10. Wasatch on the other hand is the defending Region 10 champ and are playing at home. In fact they have been at the top of the region the last 2-3 years. I expect a tough low scoring game typical of these 2 quality sides.
It looks like the Wasps have the stronger offense - - but funny things happen in "the beautiful game". It will be another interesting and hotly contested game and the poor weather conditions won't help much. The referee will likely have something to say about the outcome (which is unfortunate) like he did in the match in Park City last year. I look for the Wasps to prevail over the Miners.
