First it appalls ya, in time your use to it, than in time your in-bracing it. Dirty Harry once said; A person has to know their limitations.
I agree that pornography is bad and would taint a child's mind... but I also think a kid walking down the street and seeing a person openly carrying a gun would be distressing as well... why can't the same logic used with the negative effects of one 'thing' be applied to other 'things'?
@Bored,
If we continue with your logic however, you also support the abolishment of any pictures of guns as well correct? No child under the age of 18 should ever see a picture of a gun is that right?
@Bored to the point of THIS!
The comparison is flat out ridiculous.
No child could ever be distressed at seeing a gun, unless they are taught to think and act that way.
IE indoctrination.
A child seeing pornography is effected by destroying their natural innocence, and permanently affecting a mind that is not prepared for such adult things, and affecting a person that can not handle such adult feelings, and negatively affects their view of the opposite sex and their ability to have healthy view and understanding of sexual relationships.
Not the same at all.
Yes, this is indeed a SMALL stand against pornography! A disgustingly SMALL stand. Our lawmakers show disturbing UNDERESTIMATION of the disastrous effects of porn on the brain. Even a glimpse into research shows porn as destructive to selfless reasoning as chemical imbalance as hard core drugs. Get a grip people!
