"Carlos Lopez attributes his daughter’s early academic success to educational games." I just don't buy it at all. Some of us do nothing and our kids are "gifted" while others of us have children that struggle beyond measure when given every type of support possible. Yes, education is important and focus on what our children are exposed to is important but do these apps really cause a child to be a success? No.
I think that technology is definitely the way forward, it is used everywhere and in everything. I do agree that there are a lot of other factors that have to be taken into consideration as to whether a child will be a success, however I find that children using the LearnPad in school appear to be a lot more motivated and engaged regarding schoolwork and this has to be a good thing.
