Comments about ‘Couple put razor blades in doughnuts, police say’

I hate to admit to this kind of cynicism, but when I read about this story a couple days ago, the first thought that entered my mind was, "I'll bet the people did it themselves."

It's just hard to underestimate the idiotic things unscrupulous people will do when they get desperate enough.

Pretty sad, on many levels.

the majority of food contamination stories work like this. these folks were whacked out, though... the things people will do if they think they can get some easy money.

In addition to any criminal complaints filed against this couple.

I hope the doughnut shop sues them civilly.

This couple needs to pay a large judgement, in payments they can afford, hopefully for the rest of their life, as justice and as a warning to others.

Anyone who knows how doughnuts are made in a commercial setting would have understood that there is nothing in the process that would break a razor blade into little pieces and, further, that the chances of pieces of anything ending up all in the same box of doughnuts are miniscule. Nice try, folks. You win the consolation prize of a year's stay at Utah's Concrete Hilton.

They should have watched Strange Brew, there are less hazardous ways to try to cheat companies.

A better scheme to get money would have been to get a real job.

It always amazes me how much time and effort people will put into a scheme trying to deceive someone in order to get some money.

If they would only put those efforts into getting a job and working, they could be 100's of times better off than they are by doing something nefarious.

May be that got what they wanted. Free room and board, health and dental and eye glasses. All the time they want to catch up on reading and exercises. Personal responsibility is all taken care of.
