U could not have asked for a better draw. USC's loss to WSU shows they are one of the worst teams in the PAC. They next night against the Bears will be tough sledding though. Good luck

I disagree. I think Utah can beat USC, but they don't seem to match up well with the Trojans. Evidenced by the previous meeting between the two teams in SLC earlier this season.

CougFaninTX, while I hope the same USC team that showed up in Pullman will be the same one that we face in Vegas, I'm not as optimistic about Utah's chances as you are. SC is a team that came on very hot in the game against us, and showed a lot of matchup problems between our team and theirs. If they are shooting the ball well and not turning it over, any PAC team can attest they are very tough to beat. There were only two teams I was afraid of the Utes facing in Vegas, and that's USC and Stanford. Either way, it'll be a fun tournament, and I hope to be there longer than Thursday morning.

ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, has a different take, calling USC a team that could make a deep run into the PAC12 tournament. Tough draw for the Utes. Hopefully, their recent change in play style will make up the difference in that ugly regular season loss to the Trojans.

Unless it leads to a berth in the only tournament that really matters, who cares?

Let's face it, there's not a single conference tournament west of the Rockies in which the Utes would have a chance of winning a berth in the Big Dance.

Be fair. If you were losers in your conference and just won two in a row ever in conference, you'd feel like #1. Let them enjoy their #1 for now....it will end after losing to USC or Cal.

To feel like #1 in their situation, I guess it's only fair to bring out the slogan, "There's basketball, then there's Utah basketball!"

Methinks that is None and Done for the Utes. How embarrassing for fans to see the #1 being flashed by Washburn et al. Number one where? I guess in their own minds.

Wow, BYU fans out in force today on a Utah story. Guess they have nothing better to do, right?

And to USALover . . . dude, the fans did not "storm the floor" after the win on Saturday. I was there and I watched as Washburn went into the student section to say thank you for supporting him through several rough years. He was celebrating a great win over a top 25 team (something no other in-state team did this year). No they are not "#1" but on that day, maybe they felt like they were for what they had just accomplished.

BYU team had a much better year than the U and you guys are still bitter. Sad for you.

I think the players have worked hard this year under difficult circumstances. So their season wasn't great--at least recognize them for continuing to work hard. They won't go far in the tournament but I don't think they will quite either.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but losing to the lowly Utes dropped the Ducks completely out of the polls - only 4 votes in "others receiving votes" in the AP poll, none in the coaches poll.

TheSportsAuthority, there is no, nor has there ever been a Top 26 poll. Regardless, yes these fans such as Down under, Bomar22, and yourself appear very bitter and unwilling to acknowledge accomplishment.
