This MAY be the best Wasatch soccer team yet! The 2013 version is off to a great start, demonstrating the consistently high level soccer Coach Wheatley, his staff, and players put on the pitch. While the boys were disappointed leaving Rio Tinto in 2010 with 2nd place, they simply dominated in 2011 (only losing once), while walking away with the Wasps 1st championship. Last year, they looked poised to repeat with a stellar 16-1 record, only to have a hiccup in the semi-final against eventual champion Dixie. Building on those experiences, and with strong senior leadership, they look ready to "take state" again. Front to back the Wasps are talented and I think they will be back at Rio Tinto in May for the 3rd time in 4 years to claim their 2nd state championship.
