I give all the respect in the world to SV. Because they deserve it 100%.
However, i don't respect Logan.
With all due respect Stang, MC gave up a 9 point lead to SV in the title game
and also beat SV twice during the regular season and yet I don't feel they
choked anymore than I feel Logan did. If a team has lost all or most of their
games to a certain team and then loses to them again, it is not considered
chocking. Give respect to the teams when they deserve it.
@Sports Nutz0-3 this season and 0-9 overall. Yes Logan choked this
season. Could've until they gave up a ten point lead at the end. Sorry
but those are the facts about Logan. And yes congrats to Sky View and better
luck next year Mustangs.
Why would anyone say that Logan choked against MC? They played a great game and
it could have gone either way, they had a great tournament and had a chance to
win in the end and that's all any fan can ask for. Good job by all the
Cache Valley schools and congrats to SV for winning it all.
That's a first. You may be one of the only Logan fan's that
doesn't cry about MC being right where they belong. Yeah I know a lot of
people that were disappointed that Logan didn't make it. But that's
because they choked. Again great game by SV and MC has nothing to be ashamed
of. They played a tough game.
Stang sometimes you are soooo thickheaded. I said nothing about mc or sv being
in 5a. I have no problem with them in 4a, I love it, great rivalries. I was
asking Tuffy why he thinks they should be in 5a. It was a great run for the
valley teams, and was so fun. I was disappointed that Logan didn't make
it, but it was still a lot of fun.
@tipitup and Tuffy Park,Both of you have no clue what you are
talking about. MC/SV/Logan are all 4A. No matter how you want to spin it all
of them are 4A. MC and SV have been told they don't need to move to 5A
because they still have 4A numbers. And Logan was told they should never have
been 3A because they have 4A numbers. Nonetheless great game by both teams and
congrats to SV. No one has anything to be ashamed of.
Almost 20 years since the previous title! How SWEET it must be! Kudos to the
parents in Cache Valley - 3 of the 4 semi-finalists grew up eating Blue Ribbon
meat, Gossner cheese, and Aggie ice cream! Money well spent to get the teams to
this level. What an exciting State Tournament! Great support by students,
basketball fans, and in spite of their over zealousness, the ANCIENT and ORNERY
UHSAA ushers. I have been taking time for DEEP BREATHING, really, since the
games on Friday. Again - Great work young men!
Good on you Sky View my Alma-mater class of 1972. Brings back lots of memories
when in 1970 we beat the great Provo High team who was number 1 in the State and
we were matched up against them in the first game. No way could lowly Sky View
beat might Provo. We had a 5'4'guard, yes that's right,
5'4' in Denis Alvey who ran circles around Provo's Bigs. Sky
View won and it was so sweet. This one this year 3 games against all number 1
region winners makes it so sweet also. We didn't win State in 1970 like we
did in 2013 so this is so sweet. Back then the tournament was always held at
the University Special Events Center as it was called back then. I also believe
that the State High school system only had maybe just 2 or 3 classifications.
So basically it was Anything North of Provo 1 class and any team South of Provo
another class. One thing back then, it truly was an All State tourney. It
is so good to beat any team from Utah County(Timpview)and great to beat MC who
sends too many athletes to Provo instead of USU!
Why? Mountain Crest and Sky view numbers are close to the biggest, but Logan is
one of the smallest. So does the same argument go for the schools from st.
george, that they should be in 4a? This is the first time in probably forever
that they all were in the semi's, so the first comment is that they should
be 5a. wow! great tournament for Region 5, sweep in first round, including
play-in game, then 3 out of 4 in the semi's.
All the Cache Valley schools should be 5A.
