Now that the quest for .500 has been failed, can the Utes at least win one more game and finish the regular season at .400?

After all the talk about "improvement", the Utes are fighting OSU and WSU for 10th in the conference and hoping to increase their conference win total from 3 wins to 4.

At this pace, it'll take us five more seasons just to finish with a break-even 9-9 conference record.

The Utes started with conference season with some promise, winning some moral victories against BYU, ASU, Arizona, and UCLA, and followed that up with some real victories against Wash, Col, and ASU, but as the season is winding down, all of that promise has started to fade.

Funny how the BYU article had over 30 Utah trolls commenting and yet not a single BYU comment on the poor performance of Utah last night on this article. Who is obsessed with who? Well let me get this started.

I remember all of the hype of being in a BSC conference and how Utah would rule the Pac 10.2. I think that reality has now set in and Utah is much worse they they see themselves. Since the Ute trolls have nothing to cheer for they lash out at BYU. This is typical behavior for an inferior program.

Chris B, bring it on.

Was it the turnovers or the shooting?

Well if you understood anything about basketball, then you would understand that the PAC-12 Conference is way better than last year. I'm really quite amazed how low people's IQ are on these comment sections. BYU's putting up a 9-6 record against a pretty poor conference half of those games are gimme games the only reason the WCC is even ranked 11th overall is because of Gonzaga but they pretty much carry the conference.

I heard that people were waiting in line to see the BYU game last night. The last time the had a line for basketball, it was a line of players outside the athletic directors door, trying to get out of the program.

oh sports4life and irs agent

Your comments are so funny I can hardly control the laughter.

Weak conference so with Gonzaga holding up the WCC does that mean the uofu is the anchor to the pac10.whatever.

As far has lines to get into the games up on the hill I have watched the home games that I could find and it is funny how the camera does not even show the fans looking like empty seats.

Also the turn over the basketball team on the hill deals with year after year is far worse that at BYU even in the down year of 1-25. It seams that there is a whle basketball team playing for other schools this year.

@ couglifer

My post was talking about the turnover at the U. The moderators deleted that part.

"Well if you understood anything about basketball, then you would understand that the PAC-12 Conference is way better than last year."

And the Utes aren't.

Yes we get it.

What we're trying to understand is when are the Utes going to man up and start playing like one of the big boys, instead of whining every time U lose because your schedule is "too tough"?

The schedule isn't THAT tough; it just seems tough because U are one of the weakest programs in the conference in practically every sport.

Sorry, but you don't "win" moral victories. But then u aren't used to using either word often on the holl.

You are obviously obsessed with Utah. Weird you would call somebody out when you do the exact same thing. Some would call that hypocrisy.

We'll do that the sameday BYU can get a actualy decent win. it's quite sad to see a program with 20 wins not be able to get a single win against a Top 100 RPI team. Your best win is Santa Clara who was ranked like 103.

Where if you look at a 11-16 program that is struggling they have 4 wins better than BYU.

so my question is mussing around is why should the Utes schedule better than BYU when they have 4 more quality wins than the cougs?

the way I look at it Utah would have 20 wins with BYU's schedule.

Then the way you look at it "roses are red and garbage is blue".

"...why should the Utes schedule better than BYU"

You shouldn't until you get a better team; SOS only matters if you WIN!

"...the way I look at it Utah would have 20 wins with BYU's schedule."

You're only deluding yourself if you think that... U have more LOSSES to RPI 150+ teams, than U have wins against RPI 0-100 teams.

RPI
#62 BYU
#176 Utah

SOS
#66 BYU
#52 Utah

RPI 0-100 Wins
BYU - #93 Santa Clara, @ #93 Santa Clara, #95 Utah State
Utah - #22 Colorado, #49 Boise St, @ #74 Wash, #88 ASU

RPI 100+ Losses
BYU #150 San Francisco, #179 San Diego
Utah @ #186 Ore St, @ #194 Wash St, @ #217 SMU, #230 CS Northridge, #282 Sac St

Utah has FIVE losses WORST than BYU's worst loss, and Utah is only 5-5 versus RPI 150+ teams; 5 of Utah's 9 wins versus D-1 teams have come against RPI 150+ teams.

Bottom line, the Utes, at best, would have split with the teams at the bottom of the WCC, and would have been swept by the teams at the top.
