@ The Real Maverick. Get over it? Do you mean like the left got over losing to GWB or Ronald Reagan? America has been fundamentally changed and not for the better and I doubt we will ever be the great country we once were, thanks in large part to Barrack Obama's misguided leadership! He has America's very soul lost in the jungle of secularism and socialism.

Joe Blow: California spends more money on welfare and other unearned entitlements than any state in the union, has the highest taxes and they have the highest deficits of all states! People and businesses (taxpayers and job creators) are leaving in droves leaving guess who?

Wow, this ought to be really fun to watch in two years. Like one poster said here most of us know that the stated hate posted by some here is an outlier, especially when the Presidents aproval rating is over 50% now..but it's fun to watch.

Just a small note to Mtnman. I suppose you've forgotten that it's the principle of secularism that protects your right to believe any religious notion you choose. It's the principle that allows Mormons to worship alongside Catholics, and Muslims. You'd better hope that secularism is alive and well in America for the sake of your own beliefs.

So, who was it the president was supposed to talk about during the election if not Romney? These grapes smell sour.

@ Pragmat. Secular progressivism is it own religion. Charles Darwin and Karl Marx invented it and it has become the religion of liberalism!

Makid,
Allowing taxes to increase on those making above a certain amount is not an increase? Ah, the beauty and incomprehensibility of dem/liberal logic.

Old man, Maverick
cannot defend BO, so you just denigrate his opponents (just like your hero). You must be reading MSNBC and DNC hate speech again!

Wonder,
BO was not born in Kenya. Greece maybe

Truthseeker,
BO told repubs they could come along, but they had to ride in the back of the bus. That fosters bipartisanship?

I am GLAD the repubs are trying to stop BO’s disastrous policies.

JoeBlow,
“Utah receives more money than it puts in” Stop getting your information from a “comedian”. Utah is in the bottom five in federal expenditures per capita.

Atl134,
The Obamas don’t dislike the US? You missed Michelle’s comment that she had NEVER been proud of her country, or the America-hate they absorbed from Wright? The senate has refused to try to vote on the house bills, the problem is not filibusters.

Maverick,
you who said last November slick won with a 49% majority. 49% is NOT a majority. you lack credibility

No filibuster, no vote, no discussion. Harry Reid has singlehandedly crushed the house bills by refusing to allow them to come up. It is called obstructionism. He blocked it for fear it would pass, or that the democrats would have to filibuster to stop it.

He probably did it at the president's bidding. What an awkward position for Obama, to have to decide to sign for painless cuts (in pork), or not to sign leaving painful cuts in place so he can demand another tax increase. He might lose a few worshipers over that, although I am sure you would still be there for him.

Your suggestion of 60% vote needed is pure fiction here. It simply doesn't apply. It is nothing more than democrat sour grapes.

Well I am off to my tea party. It is a day to celebrate. The country is about to discover that is can actually restrain spending and flourish! Obama and the MSM will try to conceal the benefits, but the benefits will shine through.

"America has been fundamentally changed and not for the better and I doubt we will ever be the great country we once were."

Rather than nonse rhetoric like this, I would love to see how American has been fundimentally changed so dramtically - more so than iw was changed from 2001-2009? I am not saying the those years were the worst ever - but - the single largest loss of capital happened between 2001-2009. The greatest loss of jobs in nearly 100 years happened inthat time window. The largest government bailout of the economy, happen between those years, the single largest attack on American in over 50 years, happened between 2001-2009.

So worst I guess really is a relative term. The Bush years ended in financial disaster. Not an opinopn, but a documented fact. Doesn't make Bush bad or good. It wasn't all his fault.. hardly.

But silly claims like "worst president ever" and "Ameican fundementally changed" - more so than even the 1960s or between 1860 - 1880... it is a hard stretch to understand how comments like those are based on anthing factual.

That is raw emotion - based on something far different.

What good is a law that contains a legal option to “simply ignore that law”?

What good is a law that cannot be enforced?

What freedom do you have that is not secured and enforced by law.

What kind of people should you not elect to be your government.

Mr. Obama, while you’ve got your finger in the eye of the republicans, give it a good twist for me.

What a sad letter. Nothing but right wing talk points and half truths, and under it all, resentment and fear.

To "JoeBlow" you are connecting 2 different things. California's welfare programs are are the 10th highest in the generosity, meaning they pay the most. Of the top 10, 8 were solid liberal states. So, the statement that it was people who want more welfare electing Obama is actually quite true.

To "atl134" if Obama and his wife really liked America and its traditions why is it that Michelle Obama stated "we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation." If we have good traditions, a good history, and are in a good place, why change it unless you don't like it?

The books Confidence Men, The Price of Politics, and getting a balance from cable news confirms we have a President who can't lead, divisive, no plan, and dos'nt know how to bargain with the other side. The damage Obama will do in the next 4 years will hurt the majority of those who voted for him. Seeing it now in my city.

Mountainman..Secularism has nothing to do with progressivesim. Secularism is simply when the state is not involved in promoting or championing religion or a particular religion. Many, many religious people are secularists and value secularisim. Many, many progressives are religious, as evidenced by posters on this thread. Conflating secularism and pogressivism as inherently belonging together is just plain wrong.
