Best Utah High School team I've ever watched play. I've seen some pretty good ones too: Skyline with Danny Vranes, Bingham with Fred Roberts. This team is by far the best though; and it's not even close.

I know all of the other schools would like to pull of a huge upset, I'm hoping for Lone Peak to dominate and end the season #1 in the country. It would be an incredible and unique accomplishment for a team from Utah.

Lone Peak makes us all proud...I'm off to see them play, always gotta appreciate talent and especially the uniqueness of this team, a great group of young men.

I like that a bunch of white kids walk on the court with no dominating physical characteristics and that they defeat teams from the east.

Even though LP took a dagger to my heart when Tyler Haws hit the last second shot in double OT against my then undefeated Darts in 2008, I can't help but cheer for these guys. Take state LP and bring home a national championship!

I'm from Provo and I'm rooting for Lone Peak. You guys are awesome and we can't wait to see you at BYU. Go future Cougars!

I'm making the trip to Ogden twice to see these guys. A team like this may not ever be assembled again in my life time.

Has anyone else put together a projected BYU roster 3 years from now going through 2019?

Emery (best player in Utah), Haws (top 100), Mika (top 100), Nielsen, Chatman (best in Washington), Worthington, Calvert (best in Colorado), Hartsock, Shaw (best in Idaho), Toolson, Nixon.

Am I missing anyone?

Brekkott Chapman and Payton Dastrup (best in Arizona) are still in the mix, and would be icing on the cake.

I travel the country every week and try and watch a high school game in whatever city I happen to be visiting. I have seen other good teams but Lone Peak is certainly in rare company. I like the way the travel all over the country to play the best teams. They don't shy away from the tough tournaments. I've only seen them play a handful of times this year and they are a classy talented team. Kudo's to the players, coaches and parents.

It is too bad the SS Rams aren't being talked about the same way. Look at what a group of farm boys have dne ver the last 3-4 years.

Awesome article! Even more exciting and sweeter for me is the fact that most of those kids have opted to play for BYU. Those are precisely the kind of "clean cut Sunday school choir boys" that can potentially lift BYU to athletic prominence and respectability, not to mention putting an end to the sting of the constant mockery and ridicule from those who lives to hate everything BYU. I see great and exciting times ahead my dear Cougar fans! May we remember to be kind and classy, gentlemanly and humble, in our responses to those who genuinely detest and dislike us. Above all, don't feed their hate!

Go Rose! Go Bronco! Go Cougars!

@JD Books

when was SS ever ranked #1 in the nation? And since when did they beat teams by an average of 25 ppg?

Park City, UT

JD Books. It's neat that SS plays well and took what 3rd this year? But, do they play national tournaments and win them? Do they have the national coach of the year? No. And no, they couldn't play with LP. Don't say it, don't even think it. LP has knocked off some bigger teams this year than little SS. But congrats on 3rd
