Yeah, Utah was competitive... Let's write a Sports Headline about it.

Well it was an entertaining game even if the outcome was not what I wanted. The inability of the Utes to get a defensive rebound is really killing them every single game. They play great defense and force the opponent to run the shot clock down but then somehow forget to box out on the shot and it seems more often then not give up the offensive rebound and an easy basket. Great defense coupled with no box outs and little rebounding efford leads to an average to below average team, which unfortunatly, is where Utah finds themselves at this point. Good luck on the rest of the season Utes!! I'll be cheering every game.

With a 40 point Beat-down last year, I can see why Coor's arena was a "hostile environment"....Oh wait, the Buffs were the ones who did the beating, well then it is no wonder they were hostile! They wanted revenge! Something tells me that they were not too hostile nor were they even a little bit scared that the "Runnin'n utes" were coming to town.

I think every ute fan is just praying for the season to end so that they can then hurry and talk football. Hey, utes how is your vollyball team doing? Oh, that's right you can't field a team due to all the money that is being poured into the other sports so that you can dominate the pac 10.2. Keep those championship trophy's coming boys and girls. Soon you will have to build a new sports building just to hold all the team and individual accolades.

A worthy rival indeed. I look forward to many great games in this new rivalry.

How many times have you been the first poster on any Colorado Buffaloes article in the Denver Post?

The truth is, you don't even believe your own smack.

U talk the talk, but it's impossible for U to walk the walk in adopting this new make-believe rival of yours.

For proof, look no further than a paucity of comments from Utah fans prior to the Utah/Colorado game last night, AND, the complete absence of any return smack from Colorado fans.

A make-believe rivalry indeed.

JusttheFAX,

Big 12 call yet?

And they wont.

Another weak showing by both BYU and Utah last night. Yawn!!!

I'll plead for it again - please don't call this team the runnin' utes. 50 points doesn't justify it.

U may think the Buffs are your rival, but the Buffs still consider the Cornhuskers as their rival.

@cougintx

I don't think any Utah fan considers Colorado as our rival, that was somewhat pushed upon us when we both joined the PAC12. Mostly due to geography. Both teams are new to the conference so it makes sense to pair them up that way.

I think most Ute fans will always consider byu as our true rival. That was a great observation though.

Let us know if you have anymore observations or questions.

Go Utes!

@Qwest you said, "I don't think any Utah fan considers Colorado as our rival..."
see your official spokesperson Chris B's comment above.

Another great moral victory for the U and their fans. It'd really be nice if both the U and the Y could put together a run at the end of this season.

@Poyman

It does seem like a repetitive headline these days, but I'm just not sure what other headlines could be used.

A for effort, F for outcome. Stumblin' Utes drop another.

What is most frustrating, even for this Y fan is that the U is one or two players away from turning the corner and being more than a competitive has been.
