I am happy for this man because he obviously had the time of his life and did a
great job of conducting. However, I do feel like this is something that turns
away simple everyday conductors who would have loved to have such a thrilling
musical experience. According to Mr. Lewis' personal website, he is a
professional cellist, recording artist, vocal instructor, military band
conductor, choral conductor-in-residence and teacher of music education. Mr.
Lewis has had the privilege of traveling to many places and conducting great
ensembles from different parts of the world, performing at the ACDA National
Conference more than once and recording 5 albums. It appears that this
competition was really for that level of musician and those with less
illustrious careers of lesser renown- while the competition was touted as open
to all-never really stood a chance.
Wonderful! Was it only open to members?
A talented young man rewarded for his faithful life preparations. This is a
What a wonderful experience for him! You can just see the giddy excitement and
joy on his face! Congratulations!
