Schull family you are amazing.....as a parent of a child with diabetes and one with another autoimmune disease we too have seen the ups and downs of management, and coming to terms with the diabetes lifestyle. One thing that helped us was to let my son take control when he was ready. My husband and I are now in the "mentor" role instead of caregiver with my older teenager. It has helped him feel more "normal" and mature in taking care of his own health.
