What a great article! My older sister has many health issues and I felt left behind as a kid. The second time she had cancer, I really acted out and failed a lot of my classes in school. I always would try to compete with her in little ways to get the same sort of praise and attention she did. It wasn't until a couple years ago after some reflection and thought that I really realized why I did the things I did. I was always so shy and insecure and I know it was because of how I felt I was in her shadow. I have tried to find resources and help to assure me that I'm not alone. I really want to help other siblings of sick kids because it really affected me. Please ignore my screen name, it was made a few years ago when I was probably trolling and I have no idea how to fix it.
