The way the Aggies lost that game was a lot like the loss BYU suffered at the hands of Saint Mary a few weeks ago. Both of these local teams were playing at home to big crowds. Both made big baskets with not much time remaining, and both lost because of an extra long, off-balanced, low percentage shot that fell in as time expired. Very tough luck!
Yes, it did and does rip at the hearts of local sports fans and players as our emotions jumped to an exuberant high down to a gut-wrenching low, all within seconds. My heart goes out to the hard fighting players on both of these local teams. I've enjoyed watching and following both of these teams from our state this year... thru their successes as well as their times of challenge. Both have exceptionally good coaches and both have competitive players who never give up. I sincerely wish both teams well and good luck through the remainder of their seasons.
