Doug, thanks for the write up on Coach Boatwright. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this sad time. I wanted to just add a little personal perspective on Coach.
He wsa the head coach during my four years at Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyoming and coached back to back 3A state championship teams in 1988 & 1989. I was lucky to play under him and was a senior on the 1988 team.
He left a lasting impression on me and many others that will be cherished. He was a gentle giant that made long and tedious Wyoming road-trips enjoyable. He got the best out of all of his players and taught me personally to love the game of basketball.
He will always be a champion and a great coach in my eyes.
