Stumblin' Cougars. BYU fans, and writers now, come up with the most clever names!
an unstoppable trolley car? Weird metaphor, Dick.
The height of byu basketball the past 30 years?
A single trip to the sweet 16.
And that took a once in a lifetime player.
What a program. See ya again in 2040.
Good article Richard!
You didn't make any excuses for ineptness. You flirted with the rest factor but redeemed yourself by not talking officiating... Wonderful read and wonderful game...
Everything is just wonderful...
Correction Mr Doolin. You did not just beat a GOOD team.
It is very rare for the Cougars to lose their composure. The last ten minutes the wheels just fell off. They shot a free throw that was an air ball. Teamwork largely stopped as players took bad shot after bad shot. On TV there were lots of empty seats as the fans gave up too. Even as well as SF shot, BYU should have been able to win. They did not.
Embarrassing.
Not much of a BBall follower but I have two questions, Jeff Call reports that BYU is now 8-5 in conference play and DHarmon reports that they are now 8-4. Seems to me that two writers for the same paper would have the same results. Which brings up my second question, why does it take two articles to tell the same story. Typically the DNews has multiple writers cover BYU when they win but not so much when they lose. Is this a shift in DNews coverage of BYU in order to help keep the BYU name in front of the locals? It is not like the BYU name is lost here in Zion!
BYU still plays basketball?
Funny to see the Utesies coming here to pay tribute to BYU's loss.
I guess when you are working from a 'moral victory' point of view and last place in your conference you somehow feel entitled to dish out stuff to those that have owned you 11 of the last 12 or something similar.
I'm waiting for the Utes to string together their next historic run for one victory. LOL
Cougars are showing their inexperience and lack of control. A loss is not unexpected with the inconsistencies but there's always hope that with some fine tuning and luck that this team can pull it together. The talent is there.
Seeing the Cougars stink things up and seeing some fans leave early because of frustration and wanting to beat the rush out of there is no surprise.
Seeing Ute fans comment about it is just part of the 'circle of life' here in the state but we all recognize how awful it must be to be a Ute fan these days.
Some things never change.
Regardless of how bad a loss is for BYU it doesn't compare to being a Ute. Better days are ahead.
Sammy, we just had an athlete land herself on SportsCenter for an amazing perfect 10.00 performance in the only gymnastics highlight I've ever seen on the Top 10. Being a badly losing BYU fan really doesn't compare, so you're right about that.

Now let's talk about what happens for every Ute basketball loss ... your same comment could instead read like this:
"Funny to see sammyg coming here to pay tribute to Utah's loss. I guess when you are working from a 'third place in the horrific West Coast Conference' point of view you somehow feel entitled to dish out stuff to those that have accomplished far more than you and are playing games against significantly better competition night in and night out."
Yeah, that about says it.
San Diego burst the bubble and San Francisco stomped out the remains.
NIT here the Y comes.
I thought Utah dropped basketball, not so?
