The "Farm Cash Receipts" graph is an attempt to communicate information. What that information is is a mystery to me? Help.
Today, Monday, three days later, this article and graph is now in my home delivered DN newspaper. Under the "Farm cash receipts" graph statement has been added two words: "IN MILLIONS". I believe the graph is communicating that Utah farmers and ranchers received a total of 1,607 million dollars for their food and fiber in 2011. Another way to state that is 1 billion, 607 million dollars.
The internet version lacks the "IN MILLIONS" statement. The internet version of the graph and story also needs these two additional words to make sense out of the graph. See my Friday DN posting.
