There is a problem with polls. They give leading questions. For instance, the results say "71 percent believe selling off public lands to corporations for development will hurt their economy and quality of life." Hurting the economy and hurting the quality of life should be exclusive questions. Another leading question was that people believe there should be a balanced approach to public lands. There cannot be a balanced approach to public lands. So wanting it and getting it are two different opinions. If it were balanced, there would be half of the country's public land open for development and the other half closed off to anything but hiking boots.
We all want clean water and air. We all want to have stable economies. We all want things to go perfectly. The problem is all of these things cannot happen together.
