Five words; conference tournament and a prayer.
With basketball season so much of a snoozer, we only have 7 more months of meaningless trash talk (back and forth) until football season hopefully doesn't let us down.
Best win of anyone in the state
1. Utah against 19 RPI Colorado
Second best win of anyone in the state
2. Utah against 51 RPI Boise State
Third best win of anyone in the state
3. Utah against 71 RPI Washington
Yes, thats a fact.
The 3 best wins of anyone in the state are by the University of Utah!
LOL. Utah has a better shot at making the tournament than byu does. And we're terrible!
LOL
Losing is no fun and never a pleasant thing whether for the player or the fans. I'm still reeling from my Cougars loss to San Diego last night. And hearing that the Utes lost too just pours it on. Like gdog3finally said, "Five words; conference tournament and a prayer." That seems to be the only hope now for both the Utes and the Cougs.
Good luck to both!
Top RPI by anyone in the state
1. #55 BYU
2nd best RPI by anyone in the state
2. #121 Utah State
3rd best RPI by anyone in the state
3. #136 Weber State
4th best RPI by anyone in the state
4. #170 Utah
Yes, that's a fact.
Of the "Big Four" teams in Utah, the Utes are a DISTANT fourth.
Good wins are completely offset by the ugliest losses suffered by anyone in the state.
Another train wreck of a season for the kids on the hill will mercifully end immediately after the first game of the PAC 10.2 tournament.
Dirk
The Utes already have remarkable consistency; they're averaging 65 ppg (235th in the country) and have scored 65 +/- 10 points in 18 of their 22 games this season.
The only thing inconsistent about the Utes, is the D-News continuing to refer to them as the "Runnin'" Utes. They haven't been the "Runnin'" Utes in years.
I remember the trip to Eugene last year. I swear at one point in the game it was 32-2. I mean they just beat us down like Ive never experienced.
I am hoping the team can come out fired up and focused and compete on Saturday night. Thatd be great to see.
As far as the shifting starting lineup, its been obvious for a while now that Brandon Taylor has been outplaying Glen Dean by a large margin. Taylor is sooooo good at attacking defenses with his quickness. Though its a very small sample size, I think he is pretty close to 50 percent from downtown too. I also like his ability to set other guys up. Finally, though he is 5'9 he is proving to be a solid defender. We really got a nice player here. As a freshman, he has a ways to go in some areas, but I think he can be a star for us.
runnin utes, really?
