Hey look at the good news about this game - the Utes got more than 60 points.
If OSU's coach wasn't the brother of the first lady he would have been fired long ago.
Last week after Utah beat Colorado I remarked did anyone miss Loveridge and was chastised for it. After last night I still stand by my claim from last week - he has an ugly shot, can't make a shot from 2 feet and is horribly over rated. Sure he is better than we had last year, but let's not pin our hopes on this kid. And finally, can we start building for the next two years and let Washburn watch Olsen and Bachinsky play? A fifth year senior should be a leader, not a spectator. He watches the game go by from the court - a sideline seat would be much better. I am a die hard Ute fan, but we need to find some better talent out there soon.
Chris B,
You said that the Utes would roll OSU. I remember and I wrote it down. I guess the end is near when the mighty Chris B is wrong. Even though you said you care about basketball you sure show a lot on the B-ball posts. It's great to be a Coug.
Something tells me we'll see a new starting 5 on Saturday. Since before the season began, I've been saying 12 wins even with a patsie non-conference schedule. I may hit the nail on the head and certainly won't miss it by more than one. (Although I was thinking that U had turned the corner after the WA and CO games.)
CougFaninTX, the team this year will not turn any corners, I'll be the first to admit. There's no consistency, and probably not enough time left to develop any. I think they still have some upsets left in them this year, but the best they can hope for is to build some chemistry for the younger players and try to set the older players up with a respectable shot at a career somewhere after college.
I've never seen their man-to-man defense look so bad as last night. Washburn seemed to be ball-watching the whole time, the guards lazily went around every screen, and everyone let the slowest player on the floor (a very skilled player, but definitely not indefensible) put on a clinic in passing and old-school post moves.
SCUte, I didn't chastise you, I asked for your reasoning and I don't believe you ever gave it until now. I still respectfully disagree with your opinion, though, I think Jordan is currently one of our most talented and savvy players, and his best years are still ahead of him, barring injury.
Jordan has been one of the few bright spots for the U this year. He's only a Freshman give the kid a break. I'm sure the Y would be more than glad to take him off the U's hands, because he will be a solid contributor for years to come.
I hope the U does have some more upsets in them. Seems like they are following the lead of their NBA counterpart-the Jazz. Wildly inconsistent.
Wait a minute.... Did I just read that two mighty PAC 12 teams met and the attendance was 4118? This on the heels of so many ute fans LOL at the small venues belayed by BYU!!
Wow, it must be fantastic playing in a conference that is "all that and a bag of chips". Can you imagine going for the National Championship and playing in front of those kind of crowds? Please ute fans, no more talk about small places we play in. U can't even give tickets away at the HC, Let alone at an away game at another PAC 12 Super power.
