It doesn't do anything for weber state. I'm saying as a player I would
rather have success in the NBA than in college. I like Jimmer, I hope he has a
good solid NBA carrer. I'm just fed up with Lillard not getting any
recognition, and Jimmer still getting all the attention when Lillard is playing
a lot better.
Jimmer was in a different situation in collage. I doubt there is a team in the
NBA that will let you shoot forty times a game, and not play defense. That BYU
team was built around letting Jimmer fire away. They had several defensive
standouts that covered for his lack of lateral defense. The NBA game is much
quicker, "Jimmer said so" and exploits everything your game lacks. I
have family and friends in the Kings area and they all read the same thing.
Jimmer has not grasp the NBA game yet, that is why his minutes are going down.
He will find a spot on a team because he can shoot the ball, but there are
plenty of hot shooting players that cannot make it in the NBA. Comparing him to
Lilliard is ridiculous. Lilliard came in and took over a NBA team, and he will
win rookie of the year. This has nothing to do with the minutes Jimmer is
getting. Lilliard is a top point guard, Jimmer is a tweener that can shoot, but
he is too small for the NBA two guard, and his point guard skills aren't
even good enough to claim many minutes.
Ogdenite"At least you can say Jimmer was a better player in
college. I'll give you that."Wow, that's quite a
concession, considering the fact that Jimmer's college career was so
overwhelmingly better than Lillard's that you'd have to be completely
clueless about college basketball to argue otherwise. So what exactly
does "taking Lillard's rookie NBA season" do for Weber State? Will
that get the Wildcats into the tournament this year?
Great game Jimmer... More turnovers then points or assists. Keep ahold of those
college memories. At least you can say Jimmer was a better player in college.
I'll give you that. I'll take rookie of the year over that any day.
Watching the Jazz/Kings game tonight.Anyone want to comment on Jimmy
vs Lillard now? That was brutal Jimmy.I'm waiting
for a Jimmy rant from Ducky like he does on every Alex Smith article.Ducky?
Considering that their comments are always so similar I would imagine that the
fish from Bountiful and the lady from Fillmore are either one and the same
person or significant others. I'm not surprised at all that he would concur
with her statement, as trolling runs in both their blood. As for
Lilliard and Jimmer- they are both great players. One was a better college
player (although both owned the u), and one is in a great situation in the Nba
with 30+ minutes per night on a team that shares the ball and isn't
overloaded at the guard position like the other one. Consistent minutes would
help drastically with Jimmer's game- as he's put up some good numbers
when he gets the minutes. What Lilliard is doing is awesome, however, and I wish
him the best of luck for continued success, although I wouldn't mind seeing
Portland lose all their games (& the Kings for that matter). As
for the Deseret news- it seems ridiculous that I've had to submit this
comment 3 times now for nothing that is offensive at all, considering things
I've read from others.

54-IQYou're obviously still smarting from Jimmer's one-man
demolition of Utah in Jimmer's last appearance at the Huntsman. On a collegiate level, it's silly to even try to compare Jimmer and

Mildred nailed it. Best. Ever. And the results prove it.
Would love to see the Jazz pick up Jimmer in a trade just so the booing Ute fans
that attend Jazz games will be conflicted. Heh.
Let me be more specific for Cougar "fan".As of Monday
February 4, 2013, observing the play and NBA basketball careers to date of Mr.
Jimmy and Mr. Lillard, I would submit that, based on their NBA play as of the
aforementioned date, Mr. Lillard is better than Mr. Jimmy.By a mile.
@54-10Who did better against the u? Jimmer OWNED the u! Waiting your
Lillard is awesome! What an NBA talent. Fredette is a good person.
Tom in CAVallejo, CAWe do know who is better between Jimmy and
Lillard.Lillard by a mile.
Jimmer is the best player to have ever played basketball in the state.
Who was better - Willie Sojourner or Damian Lillard??
@Riddles, Plenty of Lillard interest here! Send Jimmer Watch to the
Ogden paper. Or whatever publication covers backup NBA players struggling to
get playing time!
RiddlesI'm just letting those people that are interested know.
I think you'd be suprised how many people really are interested. A
potential rookie of the year that played his college ball in Utah is pretty
interesting... or does he HAVE to be from BYU for everyone to be interested?
Jimmer isn't getting playing time for a reason. Big two guards own him. Big
point guards own him too! There's been a bunch of shooters come out of
collage and not make a dent in the NBA because they are a defensive liability.
Jimmer will find himself a spot in the NBA, but he will struggle until he learns
to play offense as a team player, and some defense, neither was required form
him at BYU.
Mitchell_12Why don't you get the Ogden paper to create a little
Damian Lillard watch?Obviously, there's not a great deal of
By the way... Lillard had 23 points and 8 assists and 26 points and 5 assists in
the two games they played last week against the Jazz. Not to metions the Rookie
of the Month award for the 3rd straight month. It'll be fun to see if
Jimmer and match it. It's so crazy how Lillard is playing so great right
now and can't get one article about it and Jimmer can't get any
playing time but they seem to find a story about it.
Welcome back to Utah Jimmer! Looking forward to you hooking up with a team that
can take advantage of your deadly spot-up shooting someday.
