It's great to be a Cougar right now.
Well, that could have gone better.
I enjoyed this game so much that I am sure I broke the sabbath too.
How was that Sunday game? Were there more than 200 in the seats?
Wondering about attendance. Reported attendance was 7,769... were there that many? Venues usually overstate (lie) about attendance figures, but, maybe?
Whoa, a lot of insecure Cougs were ready to jump in on this one.
“Haters don't really hate you, they hate themselves;
because you're a reflection of what they wish to be”
Oops. :( Guess I was too optimistic about the Utes prospects after some good showing on the road. This kind of loss at home is inexcusable. Players as well as coaches have to take the blame. Saw some bits of the game. The utes did not see to have any energy on defense giving up easy layups and uncontested 3's. Hope they have not already checked out for the season... :( :(
Need a commentary from Chris B. The silence is very loud.
Like that big ominous billboard says northbound at the point-of-the-mountain: you're in PAC-12 country now! I think Rick Majerus just rolled over in his grave. Thankfully the Sunday schedule and the snowstorm kept most of us ute fans from having to painfully experience first hand what it feels like to be the doormat of the conference in yet another sport. I'm not so sure this PAC-12 business was such a great idea after all. It's like the family dog that is always chasing cars and then one day he catches one. Now what?
If i remember correctly last thursday there were a few utah trolls on the BYU thread talking about only 6,000 fans in attendance at gonzaga and how a 20 point loss by the cougars had to be embarassing,well i would rather lose by 20 points on tyhe road to the 10th ranked team in the country than to lose by 31 at home to a team that only has 2 more conference wins than you do in front of oh say 800 fans and on national tv thats what i call embarassing.
"Reported attendance was 7,769... were there that many?"
I didn't think Utah even drew 7,000 under normal non-BYU circumstances. It looked closer to 5,000 watching on TV which isn't all that bad compared to what they normally draw and that whole half a foot of snow thing.
Two for Flinching - ya, Utah basketball is a reflection of what we all want to be. Good one.
I keep thinking that Utah basketball is heading in the right direction, then they get blown out at home by an average team. Dissapointing to say the least.
Two-fer and Chris B,
I guess it does not flow both ways. You want to rag on the Cougs when they lose to a top 10 team, on the road and it isn't acceptable when the BYU fans rag on Utah for losing by 31 at home to a fellow cellar dwellar. No way I wish to be like Utah right now.
Keep the smack coming, it's fun.
"...i would rather LOSE by 20 points on tyhe road to the 10th ranked team in the country than to LOSE by 31...".
Either way, your fine with being a loser?
@ Down under
I never ragged on BYU for losing to Gonzaga. I'm pretty sure I didn't even comment on any of the BYU-Gonzaga articles... Also I never said it was unacceptable for BYU fans to troll Utah articles. I just think you should realize that it makes you (and all trolls in general) look small and insecure.
@2fer
More hypocrisy. You troll BYU articles regularly. But like all utah "fans" you are able to dish it but you can't take it.
@ Duckhunter
Posting on a BYU article does not automatically make me a troll. There is a difference between posting my opinion/thoughts on a story and posting just to take a cheap shot and start a flame war.
@2fer
Of course there is a differnce, it's just that you do take cheap shots and you do ignite flame wars and you do it regularly. If you want examples with times and dates I can post them for you although we both know it isn't necessary because we both know you do it. And that is why it is simply more hypocrisy from you.
Now it doesn't bother me that you do it, I happily join in and have a good time doing it, but when you want to pretend you are somehow above it all when you demonstrably are not then I'm going to call you out. It is a weird utah "fan" habit by the way, I don't know of a single BYU fan that posts stuff to get utah "fans" worked up that then complains about utah "fans" doing the same thing. That is purely a utah "fan" thing to do.
@ Duckhunter
post 'em. I don't recall starting any flame wars, but I would like to see the posts if I did.
