I feel sorry for Manti but now glad Bronco withdrew the scholarship offer four years ago.

Things must be slow to want o interview the Bishop. Its not like the Bishop is the Attorney General or something.

Am I missing something here or is this the biggest non story of the past year? So a guy was duped into thinking he had a girlfriend and that girl died. Big deal. Why is this getting ANY attention at all??

Yeah, it's not like having a consulate attacked and blaming it on an obscure youtube video or something.....

Why would a general authority have anything relevant or interesting to say about Manti? His bishop would have far more personal and direct information about Manti and his spiritual state of mind, i.e. his honesty. Read the article linked in this story - Manti's bishop revealed a lot more about this situation than I've heard in other sources.

Have to agree with eastcoastcoug - in the scope of dishonesty, this is hardly a blip on the radar. I guarantee no one would hear about this if Manti was a second stringer.

His bishop shouldn't be making any comments at all. What's up with that? Bottom line you're right, this has to be the biggest non-story of the century.

Te'o has my deepest sympathy!
One of our sons got 'sucked' into this type of 'relationship' a couple years ago. I spoke with her ont he phone, we became Facebook friends and chatted. My son spent hours on the phone with her over the 12 months this 'relationship' continued.

I bought it, however my oldest daughter had doubts and her best friend had lived near where this 'girlfriend' said she lived (many states away). Over the year, my daughter and her friend tried many times to find her and she always had an excuse why she couldn't be found.

Long story short, she wasn't real!!! Never met her! I finally joined my wife and daughter and convinced him to go find a REAL women to marry. 1 whole year was enough to invest in this 'ghost'.

Happily, he did and married her a week ago, a very very sweet, intelligent women of 'flesh and bones'. We love her and her family and couldn't be happier.

Obviously, there are people out there who have nothing better to do with there lives than try to ruin others'.

I am sure his bishop would not make any comments without Manti's permission.
