Good all-around game. Taylor looked like the guard we were missing.
Go UTES!
Way to go. The ice has been broken.
Congrats on a great road win Utes!
So happy to see this Utah team get their first conference win and it was a road game none the less. The Utes played a great game from start to finish. I think all the close games they have been in finally pod off down the stretch.
I was really impressed with the performance of the two freshmen Taylor and Loveridge. The Utes had gret composure tonight against one of the better teams in the PAC12.
I'm glad they finally got their first road win as well as their first conference win this year. They played really good defense tonight as they have in a handful of other games this year but they also had a number of guys step up and knock down shots.
I hope this will give this team some confidence for the rest of the season. The last two previous games have been discouraging but tonight's game was a good sign that this team still believes in themselves. Hopefully it will lead to a few more victories this year.
Go Utes!
This team is Jekyll and Hyde! Tonight they couldn't have been better....but scary that it seemed the offense developed the defense! It's always better when strong D helps create the offense!
Washington is very weak...but learning to win is always a good thing for a bunch of guys learning to play together...
We all knew it had to happen sometime! There you go Chris B. Enjoy.
Utah's record is not a good one but it's not hard to see the team is much improved under Coach K. The cabinet is not full and his team is making the nest of it. That shows as they play hard and with pride. The USC loss was ugly but the other four were one play away from wins. So at 0-4 in conference, I was worried about the team being discouraged and starting to pack it in. That did not happen and it was a real good win on the road against Washington who was 4-0 in conference. NICE JOB UTES!
I have to admit that I had not given the Utes much of a chance in this one. Let's hope it was not just a one time thing.
Congrats to the basketball team and to the coaches.
I'm sure these men feel very relieved of the burden and pressure of having to do what seemed to be the impossible... to win a conference game. Maybe this will be one of those defining moments that will help move these young men through something that has been holding them back... or maybe not. We won't know until the next game, then the next one and so forth.
It will be funny to observe the raised hopes of the 'dedicated' "fans" after such a monumental fete. But as Karl Malone said... "even a blind squirrel can fine a nut once in a while."
Congrats Utes... enjoy the afterglow... while it lasts.
Congratulations Utes!
Congrats. Want to see more.
The Utes had a great game plan and were able to execute it properly. The coaching and preparation for this game was excellent. With three more years of good recruiting they well may be competitive at a national level again. Do it again and you might make a believer out of more fans.
It was only a matter of time, especially when taking into account how close we've been against the two Arizona schools, BYU, and UCLA. Coach K is doing a good job, and the new talent he's brought in is showing flashes of brilliance, like in yesterday's game.
Keep fighting, Utes!!
Nice win by the Utes; just need to get on a roll a win some conference games. It's not hard to out coach Romar; I've seen it happen many, many timees. Great recruiter, horrible game day coach.
@sammyg
Quoting the rocket scientist in Karl Malone eh? Didn't he also say "life is like a box of chocolates"?
Good on you though Sammy, your take was semi-nice.
Congrats to Coach K and company! I hope you guys can build on this win.
That's a very quality win for the Utes and definitely something they should be able to build on.
If the Utes can play like they did last night, or close to it for the remainder of their conference games, it's possible they could finish with a 15-15 .500 regular season record. I wouldn't go as far as predicting that's what will happen, but it also wouldn't surprise me much and would be a huge step forward for this rebuilding program.
Proud of these players and proud of our coaches. Go Utes!
I knew this was a much better BBall team than their record indicated ever since they gave my Cougars a scare. Coach K is very good and I think he'll bring this team to prominence in the conference in 2 to 3 years.
Congrats to the Utes on a quality win in a very tough place to play.
A little reality check about the chances of the Utes finishing 15-15 or better:
The Utes won't come anywhere close to shooting 60 FG% every game, so unless they learn to adjust their plodding style of offense when circumstance dictate, Utah will continue to struggle.
I am surprised Chris B. has not made any comments. She usually is one of the first to laud a Ute win.
