2.5 seconds and you can't trap...looks like an NIT berth this year
The Cougs actually played acceptable D for the last 2 seconds. The Dellanova guy or whatever his name is just hit an amazing shot. If they had pressed downcourt, then they would have opened themselves up to allowing a long over-the-top pass and a shorter shot. It was also smart that the second defender running in at the last second stepped out of the way to avoid letting Dellanova draw a tacky foul. Better to let the guy shoot a 30-35 footer than to give him a chance to draw the foul. BYU has strong computer rankings but no solid wins. Even if they had won this, they would still have needed to beat Gonzaga one or more times to get in for sure.
Gaels never quit from start to FINISH. Well Dave Rose, why not do the same when you knew they got 2.5 sec (or got some time left) to go and you MUST guard this main guy and try to block the pass to him. Hope you will think about it which of course you don't read this here. Oh well, better get ready for San Diego or whoever is next.
can't overemphasize the importance of making all the free throws. Gaels looked all business and the cougars looked emotional.
