Lucky they didn't go to the house of a gun advocate.
re BYR
Nor is it likely that house was posted as a gun free zone. Who is to say that wouldn't have helped :)
Yes...because they would probably have guns now.
As Woody Deem used to say, "Criminals are stupid!"
It is almost like they wanted to be caught. Why?
I remember reading Superman cartoons and Lex Luther, the bad guy, would hatch some scheme, give an evil laugh and say, "Ha, I am a criminal genius!" These guys aren't geniuses. People just don't have professional pride like they did in the old days. What's happening to the country?
Regarding gun laws, be careful what you wish for you may find that living in a place willing to control its people by removing rights such as these isn't quite what you thought it would be. There is a dangerous line of thinking that can go hand in hand with the willingness to end certain rights. It might start with one thing but often that is only the beginning. People need to understand the full ramifications of their kneejerk solutions. I have personally lived in places with and without the right to protect yourself. It's a very vulnerable feeling to know that the only people with weapons are the bad guys.
Let's remember that the victim in this instance had to free himself and then call the police to come investigate the crime. The police can't be everywhere to protect you, they investigate crimes after they happen. It's up to you to survive.
How about we be thankful that the victim in this instance is alive and safe and quit turning everything a gun discussion?
So they used the victim's computer to put photos of their heist on facebook!? I guess there's one positive aspect of internet addiction--stupider criminals.
A guy and a girl. I'd of beat the stuffing out of them and then called the cops because it appears they didn't have a weapon. I guess the probation given to the guy on his felony conviction worked out well, didn't it?
Nice kids...proud parents. Everybody goes home happy.
Three-strike laws will put these clowns behind bars for life. There's no fixing people this repetitively stupid. Just lock 'em up forever.
What was it that marvelous philosopher, Forrest Gump, used to say about stupid?
Disclaimer: No gun was used in this attack.
I supposed knives are safer for the victim. Let's put the blame where it belongs, on the criminal, not an inanimate object.
Lock them up for life, and then we can all pay the bill for their upscale care. It used to be that criminals were required to work, which is what they need.
