I hope you guys win every game but 1 :-) You can recover from an opening season loss right???
Good luck next year U. May you have a better year then this last one!
How can the Utes bookend their 10-loss season with wins, if they play Utah State before Weber State?
SportsFan
I think you're underestimating the Utes. It won't be quite that bad.
2013 UTAH FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
Aug. 29 — UTAH STATE - loss
Sept. 7 — WEBER STATE - win
Sept. 14 — OREGON STATE - loss
Sept. 21 — at BYU - loss
Oct. 3 — UCLA - loss
Oct. 12 — STANFORD - loss
Oct. 19 — at Arizona - loss
Oct. 26 — at USC - loss
Nov. 9 — ARIZONA STATE - loss
Nov. 16 — at Oregon - loss
Nov. 23 — at Washington State - win
Nov. 30 — COLORADO - win
3-9 overall, 2-7 in conference
At least the Utes will be home for the holidays again.
When Chris Hill refused to schedule BYU, it ceased being a rivalry game.
As Gimli said:
Certainty of death, *small* chance of success... What are we waiting for?
2013 is going to be brutal for the kids on the hill.
Utah will be lucky to win three games.
@hemlock
"When Chris Hill refused to schedule BYU, it ceased being a rivalry game."
Which, of course, explains why the MUSS only rushed the field THREE times.
yawwwwwn!
The "irrelevance" game is soooo boring.
Now that we have the cougies chiming in on Utah's conference schedule, we wait for Tommy-Boy to release BYU's '13 schedule to see which of the usual suspects (Idaho State, New Mexico State, etc) will appear in late November.
Fun schedule, lots of home games, but questionable chances of improving from last season's 5-7, especially with Stanford and Oregon replacing California and Washington.
The Utes may have to sweep their non-conference games in order to qualify for a bowl.
I really like the way the schedule looks. A lot of comments trying to bring them down before the first snap, but coming from fans of opposing teams it isn't unexpected. This schedule won't make it easier for the Utes to become bowl eligible then last years but I do have high hopes. If nothing else because I think Coach Whittingham learned a lot from the last few years and realizes if he doesn't start adjusting to the way football is played in the Pac-12 he will find his time on a very slippery slope. Regardless, August 29 couldn't seem farther away. Good luck in the offseason.
Go Utes!!!
I see a lot of losses on tap for the utah. Interesting how their schedule has gotten tougher at the same time they have gotten worse. I wonder if their is a connection?
The one loss Utah won't have is the week they play BYU. Based on the last 10 years, the odds are with Utah in that game.
Excited for August/September to roll in again. It will be a fun year, go Utes!
8-4 is do-able. 9-3 would be awesome. I said that at the start of this season. 5-0 going into the Stanford game? Man I hope so. Here's too a better season. It's time for the Utes to step up!
GO UTES
Aug. 29 Utah St: W
Sept. 7 Weber St.: W
Sept. 14 Oregon State: W
Sept. 21 at BYU: W
Oct. 3 UCLA: W
Oct. 12 Stanford: L
Oct. 19 at Arizona: W/L
Oct. 26 at USC: W/L
Nov. 9 Arizona st: W/L
Nov. 16 at Oregon: L
Nov. 23 at Washington State: W
Nov. 30 Colorado: W
Best Case 10-2, Worst Case, 7-5
Outside of the three in state teams we could lose them all next year. Utah State got their once a decade win from the Utes last year, Weber has no chance and BYU is well, BYU. The Utes should feel lucky for playing in a state with so many creme puffs.
Challenging schedule for sure. We should be 4-1 going into the Stanford game, depending if Mora is still coaching UCLA.
Funny how so many southies have to post on this story considering how they don't even have a completed schedule yet, their coaching staff is in turmoil - again, and their 2013 recruiting class is so abysmal. I guess when you have nothing to be happy about, you have to make fun of big brother.
Go Utes!!
Hey lil Ducky - where's Fangupo?

"8-4 is do-able. 9-3 would be awesome. I said that at the start of this season. 5-0 going into the Stanford game?"
Sorry to burst you bubble, but the "start" of the 2013 season will be even worse, more like 1-9.
Big Sky have become a staple for Utah; it's the only way U can guarantee a win before November when U play your new rival.
Not good for Utah....weber state???? 4-8 next season at best!
Go Trojans!
I've been waiting for this and I've earned the right. I predicted the Uteys would go 5-7 last year and heard nothing but Utey fans saying, "NO WAY...10-2, 11-1" Well my great football knowledge tells me again that the Uterus will be 5-7 again. Oh, here it comes, "NO WAY 10-2...ROSE BOWL....NEVER!
PS Nice OC. LOL!
I think this year proved it was Anderson not Witty that made the Uteys respectable.
