The Cambodian experience was absolutely horrific. But for a worse “bloodiest per-capita” event look to Paraguay in South America from 1864 to 1870. In Cambodia the populous was devoured by their own people. In Paraguay the populous was devoured by foreign armies and disease. About 2 out of 3 died and about 90 percent of the males older than 12 died. Terrible events that occurred for very different reasons.
