From a fully invested BYU fan, I must say I strangely am happy that the Ute's b-ball program seems to be on its way back up. Maybe it is partly due to the diminishing of the football rivalry, and how I would like the basketball teams to be out-of-conference rivals and for this to be possible, the Utes will need to not be horrible. Keep up the improvement, Utes. Maybe next year I will be able to not be embarrassed if the Cougars almost lose to you again.

It's frustrating to see the close losses but the last two in particular are also very encouraging. This team just needs its offense to come around and good things will start happening. Perhaps the improving health of Dotson and Martin will end up helping.
I know one thing ... if Washburn continues to play like he did the last two games, Utah will win a lot more conference games than anyone first thought they would.

I hadn't been to any games for the past few years. I took my kids to the game against Boise State and am now looking to get tickets again. I used to do attend most of the games but stopped going due to poor product. I believe Coach K has this team back to where they won't be blown out by anyone due to great defense. I'm impressed with Washburn's confidence and Jordan is playing very well for an 18 year old kid. Our guard play is getting better. I would be happy with a 16 win season this year. Excited for the future. Excited for the UCLA game on Thursday.

Congratulations?

@pac12fan

Thanks for confirming what we all already knew about utah "fans". That your screen name is "pac12fan" rather than 'utahfan' or some such thing just makes this all the funnier.

LOL!

Sounds like Duckhunter's jealous he doesn't have a conference to root for and be proud of.

Sounds like Utah fans are jealous that they have to live in the reflected light of conference mates, rather than producing their own accomplishments - cannon fodder for the big boys of the conference to pad their conference records.

The Utes have made great strides so far this season. I hope they can continue to progress and hopefully the ball will bounce the right way and we can win one of these close games.

I agree with Motorbike, if Washburn can continue his high level of play and we can get a few others to get involved in the mix, the Utes can be a better team than most thought.

Hopefully they can get a couple wins this week and get some much needed confidence to get over the hump.

As for the typical comments from byu "fans" that is what we expect from a group that is so obsessed with all things Utah. It's tough when there isn't much to be excited about with your own team I guess.

Go Utes!

Typical response from the hilltoppers. In the absence of a legitimate rebuttal, attack the messenger.

Utah is indeed "improved" this season; but, improving from truly bad to meerly mediocre isn't much to beat your chest about.

As far as BYU fans not being excited about their own team. BYU has been down a little this year, but the team is starting to show some improvement with the development of players not named Haws and Davies, and the Cougars still have a very legitimate chance of playing in the NCAA tourney for the 7th straight year.

Dear Duckhunter:

One would ask why you troll our boards so frequently? Are you insecure? Angry at life? Inadequate in some manly way? Family issues? The list could go on and on and on. Suffice to say, your continual contention is boardering absurdity. You intentionally come on to Ute articles and spew your contentious behavior. Why?
