Great, tough win for the Cougars, I hope we continue to improve! If Carlino can finally be consistent as a major contributor each game we will do much better the rest of the season than we have so far!
Please Matt don't use the word gritty. It brings up such bad memories.
Even on tough nights, Haws is going to find ways to get his 20 points. He's Mr. Consistent, like Noah last year.
The keys to a successful season lie in Davies, Carlino and a little bit with the shooting guard. Davies can't take himself out of the game, with foul trouble. We need him on the floor for 30+ minutes, and we need him on the floor the final five minutes. If he only plays 17 minutes against the Zags, it will be a blowout. And defending the Zag's bigs is going to be a bigger challenge than SF.
It is easy to see that Carlino has potential, but he's hot and cold. If he can play every game like he did against SF, we have a shot at the WCC crown.
Zylstra and Cusick are even more inconsistent than Carlino. They need to be much more produtive.
nice job! Keep it up Matt! I knew you had it in you. It was nice to see Zilch-stra show up finally. i wish Nate Austin would quit trying to be a small forward and utilize all the height he's been blessed with. His taking 18ft fadeaways from the post don't help the team.
Also, c'mon Davies, you're a senior. You gotta be smarter than that.
